Role player combat game, Marvel Future Fight is out now on iOS, courtesy of South Korean developer Netmarble. UPDATE: The game has just passed 10 million downloads in two weeks, over 100 countries. While it hasn't hit No. 1 in any major territories, that shows the power of the Marvel brand.
Marvel Future Fight brings 36 powerful characters into play, including the Avengers, Spider-Man, Daredevil, and the Guardians of the Galaxy, each with their own signature moves, abilities, and costumes. Players will learn how to combine and consolidate these heroes to unleash the most powerful effects and build an unstoppable team.
Featuring high-quality graphics and deep, action-packed content, players will lead their team of heroes against villains like Loki, Doctor Octopus, Ultron and many more in stage-based battles. In addition to PVE and PVP modes, Marvel Future Fight features a thrilling RPG campaign where players gain experience for their team and enhance their heroes’ stats.
Dug up some in-progress gameplay action... looks like Netmarble hasn't spent too much on the character design or backgrounds, but it could still be a decent RPG, any one taking bets on how much micro-transaction hell will be involved?

One Piece Treasure Cruise hits iOS
The One Piece Pirate Warrior games are a staple for Japanese anime-loving console fans and are picking up an audience in the west with Pirate Warriors 3 out soon. For mobile gamers, One Piece Treasure Cruise puts Luffy and the Straw Hat crew through their RPG paces with a fun tap-battle mechanic.
Players put together their own pirate crew, and level up to face off against powerful bosses across a unique One Piece story, on the hunt for Gold Roger's treasure. It claims highly strategic battles, great visuals and user-friendly controls. The Treasure Cruise game is only 20MB (with some post-install downloads to add to that) and comes with a huge array of in-app purchases for the rainbow gem packs (up to $65) to keep playing.

Deus Ex: The Fall brings a classic RPG series to iPad
The Deus Ex games are some of the most loved PC titles ever, certainly the first one was a truly modern RPG that's up there with System Shock. Deus Ex: The Fall is will cost around £5 and is coming to the iPad soon, taking the design and action from the previous episode, Human Revolution, and the recent icarus Effect novel.
The Fall puts you in the boots of an ex-SAS type, Ben Saxon who has been betrayed by his previous bosses. Jacked up to the eyeballs with augments, the game looks pretty much like its recent incarnations and as long as the controls remain cohesive, should be great fun to play.

Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic lives on the iPad
Another RPG legend is reborn on iPad, this time Bioware's rather fun take on the Star Wars universe in the form of Knights of the Old Republic. Think of it as an early Mass Effect and you're kind of on the right track. IGN has a review up and reckon its a decent translation despite the odd control wobble.
UPDATE: Price cut, the game is now just £2.99 on the App Store, not sure how long it will last
Regardless, this was an awesome game and the experience lives up to modern standards. The game should be out in the next day or so, no word on pricing or size yet, but the original was pretty chunky.
UPDATE: The game costs $9.99/£6.99 and is just shy of 2GB to download (with 4GB space required to download it). Here's a screen from iTunes, but will post some more once its downloaded, eventually...

Ragnarok Valkyrie Uprising challenges the iPad
Another Ragnarok online RPG hits the iPad and iPhone today, bringing more of Valhalla to explore in solo or party play for those on the look out for quests, fame and fortune. Naturally, rubies can be picked up or brought as in-app purchases to help you level up in this otherwise free game.
While its not quite at the Vita's 3D level of visual splendour yet, the graphics look pretty neat and homely, and the game should provide a fun challenge for anyone getting into mobile RPGs.

Square Enix brings junior RPG Wizardlings to iOS
Okay, its not really core-gaming square territory, but this could still give younger iOS role players (that'll be your kids then) something to enjoy as they learn the ways of the rogue or bard. Wizardlings is a casual "tap adventure" set in a fun, fantasy world, is now available for free download for iPhone and iPad.
Translating the below press blurb, players tap squares to banish the darkness, collect goodies and fight demons, I'm not sure if tapping on every square in a level is supposed to be fun (even for a child) but the RPG-lite features and mildly varied combat should win fans.
PR blurb:
As a young wizard or witch, Wizardlings players embark on a quest to banish the darkness and revive a cursed fantasy world. Along the way, players collect interesting and unique treasures, find ingredients to brew powerful spells, and battle menacing creatures to purify the world of evil.
Wizardlings challenges players to explore unique landscapes by using magic wands to fight back the shadows that cover the world and reveal the vibrant land hidden beneath. With each new tile uncovered, the player reveals flowers, trees, buildings, and hundreds of other objects and treasures - some of which are used as ingredients to create mighty spells.
Beware - lurking in the shadows are dangerous monsters guarding various tiles that players must defeat in order to bring the Light back to all corners of the world. Brew powerful spells from the magical Spellbook to vanquish these monsters and reclaim the oppressed land. Wizardlings features include:
Exploration and Discovery: By tapping the various tiles, players reveal the world around them as they play. Hidden in the darkness are treasure items, ingredients for spells, quest items, and vibrantly colored landscape items.
Highly Stylized Art and Animation: In the gorgeous fantasy setting of Skywind, Wizardlings features beautiful and playful art and animations that will look stunning on mobile devices.
Fun, Magical Combat: Players use a spellbook to brew and cast magic from five schools of elemental powers: Fire, Water, Charge, Air and Holy. Players brew new spells from ingredients discovered within the world and select spells from each school of magic that best defeats the monsters they encounter.
Collectibles: Treasures, ingredients, and quest items are hidden throughout the land waiting to be discovered. With hundreds of unique treasures and items to find and collect, even the most tenacious treasure hunters will be challenged to discover them all!

Baldur's Gate Enhanced opening on iPad
The legendary RPG Baldur's Gate, one of the major PC RPGs is making a comeback on the iPad. This version is based on the classic PC-era games, not the console hack-n-slash remakes and will come with the Tales of the Sword Coast expansion, with more modern refinements and the power of the Infinity Engine.
The game is being developed by Overhaul, a team of former Bioware coders. There's a new site up where screens, video and other details will appear soon. A launch date of Summer is mentioned, so plenty of time to get your bard's singing voice into tune.
