While Criterion does the job on the Vita, Firemonkeys has turned out a great effort for iOS with a fast and furious version of Need for Speed Most Wanted. It lacks the multiplayer of the console versions but is otherwise a fine addition to a proper gamer's Games folder on the iPad.
Weighing in at just under 600MB, it costs £4.99 with plenty of in-app purchases to boost the basic content.

Sega's Jet Set Radio coming to the iPad
Continuing the rise of mainstream games appearing on tablets, Sega will bring Dreamcast classic JSR to the iPad, iPhone and Android devices. Jet Set Radio includes the same slick gameplay, genre-blending soundtrack, and pioneering art style as the other versions alongside new features like OpenFeint and Retina display support and the awesome ability to use pictures taken with your phone or tablet’s camera as in-game graffiti!
There's no immediate clue from the screen as to how the controls will work, but you can rip through Traverse Shibuya terminal on the train, silence the Love Shockers on your lunch break, blast through Benten-cho while boarding a bus and upload achievements to Facebook while riding a ferry! The game was originally announced for PS Vita and consoles, bet that these versions will be a fair bit cheaper.
