Rovio is adding a new dimension to the next Angry Birds Star Wars game with those funny little statues that kids enjoy in games like Skylanders. Put them close to the tablet and watch them appear in the game, as the first three movies get the treatment with levels set in Naboo, Tatooine (again) and fighting the grim Darth Maul.
I suppose the telepods makes a change from all-digital DLC, but surely Rovio won't make it mandatory to impact the gameplay?

Angry Birds Star Wars Episodes I-III announcing Monday
A new pic out of Rovio suggests the inevitable expansion of the Angry Birds Star Wars franchise, covering The Phantom Menace, Attack of the Clones and so on. Given that Jar Jar Binks and those droid armies are ridiculous characterizations anyway, how can Rovio make them any dumber?
Still, you can never have enough Angry Birds games, or can you? Rovio says its a whole new game, not just an expansion. Has the porcine-laden boat well and truly sailed? Guess we'll find out via the download charts in a few months from now.
