From the coding skills that brought consoles gamers Metropolis Street Racer on the Dreamcast and Project Gotham Racing for Xbox, 2K Drive is an iPad exclusive that offers single and multiplayer racing with plenty of tracks and real world cars to try out. Developed by new outfit Lucid that is formed from the ashes of Bizarre, closed by Microsoft, this has the potential to turn heads.
At £4.99 expect some in-app purchases to oil the wheels, but with plenty to do, this could offer more than just a pretty, but vanilla-flavor racing experience.

X-COM Enemy Unknown to stalk the iPad and iPhone
The revitalized and revisualised version of the classic 16-bit turn-based strategy game X-COM will arrive on iOS devices this summer. Tweaked for a touch interface, it packs in all the action, development and is losing only a few maps (which could easily come as DLC) in the process.
No word, on what models it will run on, but if you've got an older iPad, this could be the excuse you need to upgrade to one of the newer, more powerful models. The big question is price, will it match the PC and console version, or will 2K look to sneak in some in-app purchases to off-set a cheaper cost?

A Borderlands game is coming to the iPad and iPhone
2K Games has let slip an advert showing off an iOS version of Borderlands, not quite the full experience, but still a tantalising take on the series. Borderlands Legends has the Gearbox name stamped on it, and offers the game's favourite characters, a huge arsenal weapons and 36 powers. Fight through random missions and an "endless" mode called Fight for your Life. The ad leads to 2K's mobile site which hasn't been updated yet.
