Lara Croft Go brings Tomb Raider to the iPad

Tomb Raider is one of the classic gaming series. Now, iPhone and iPad users will finally get a chance to join in Lara Croft's adventures in a new episode for mobile devices. Lara Croft Go gives a twist to the usual Tomb Raider action adventure, with turn-based puzzle gameplay. As Lara, you take on a new adventure set in a long-forgotten world.

You get to explore the ruins of an ancient civilization, discover its hidden secrets and face many deadly challenges while uncovering the myth of the Queen of Venom. It features challenging gameplay, gorgeous visuals and a mesmerizing soundtrack, all at your fingertips, the game is out on 27 August for $4.99.

The company's previous mobile game Hitman Go, was a big hit earlier in the year.

This War of Mine will haunt your iPad

Surviving war is probably a lot tougher than fighting it. In This War of Mine from 11-Bit Studios, for three survivors in a bombed and menacing city, just getting through the night is grim enough as horrific choices come and go.

Hauntingly monochrome with an aftermath atmosphere of living minute to minute, it shows what games are capable of, and on the same day as an Angry Birds 2 announcement, hey ho!

This War of Mine is picking up great reviews, so enjoy, or put your bravest face on for the suffering of the characters. It costs £7.99 and weighs in at around 360MB.

Sonic Runners races on to iOS

Purist fans of the flashy hedgehog might be a bit upset by this, but Sonic has joined the endless army of endless runner games with another free to play, DLC-laden offering. Going back to the look of the MegaDrive/Genesis original, its a least bit more pacey than the lame Sonic Dash effort. All you have to do is tap to jump to keep Sonic or his racing pals safe.

It comes with competitive play modes; “Rival League”, “Friend,” “World,” and “Historical.” leaderboards. The game features Sonic and his friends packing all sorts of bonuses like speed, gem collection, and more as they race their way to the top.

Sonic fans can look forward to special missions, new characters and buddies, in-game events and more content to follow. Unfortunately the game treats all players like four year olds, and there's none of the fun level design of early Sonic.

Rule your Fallout Shelter with a fist of steel

While the larger formats await Fallout 4, iPhone and iPad gamers can play Fallout Shelter from Bethesda as a neat diversion in the run up to launch. Yes, it borrows heavily from NimbleBit's Tiny Tower, and the indie is probably a bit annoyed that Bethesda didn't ask them to do it.

With the same rules of get the people working, living and keep them happy, it has a neat 3D slant to the levels and is a fun take on the endless builder games, with lots of neat features to uncover.

Star Wars Uprising brings RPG action to iOS

Star Wars: Uprising will introduce a new chapter of the Star Wars universe after Return of the Jedi. Set in and around the Anoat Sector, home to Hoth and Cloud City, it stretches and unveils a bit more of the Star Wars universe before The Force Awakens.
