Hardcore game developer Ninja Theory (Enslaved, Heavenly Sword on consoles) has teamed up with Chillingo to bring a proper old-school-done-modern beat 'em up to the iPad. Fightback offers a striking 80s action movie vibe (definitely see hints of Renegade in there) and a "revolutionary" touch-based combat system.
Bit worried about the free-to-play bit, which probably means paying to access special moves or some other madness, but it certainly looks the part and this is easily the kind of game that could make console gamers a little bit jealous, if they get the mechanics right.
