Bit worried about the free-to-play bit, which probably means paying to access special moves or some other madness, but it certainly looks the part and this is easily the kind of game that could make console gamers a little bit jealous, if they get the mechanics right.

Ninja Theory brings Fightback to the iPad
Hardcore game developer Ninja Theory (Enslaved, Heavenly Sword on consoles) has teamed up with Chillingo to bring a proper old-school-done-modern beat 'em up to the iPad. Fightback offers a striking 80s action movie vibe (definitely see hints of Renegade in there) and a "revolutionary" touch-based combat system.

He-Man goes old-school side-scrolling action on iOS
As a product of the eighties, it is only fair that Chillingo's He-Man game looks like a game from that era. Bring back memories of Robocop, Batman and many a fantasy Capcom game, He-Man tackles massive bad guys and can work alongside his army of friends.
The game is out now for 99c/69p and while its no Black Tiger, has to be worth a go on your iPad.
